Complete engine for the 1985 Yamaha DT200 model 37F. Engine turns over by hand, piston clean when viewed up the exhaust port and down the reed block and the crank feels smooth when rotating. We have shone a light into the bore and you can just make out a light brown on the bore lining - this might be surface rust from storage, or old two-stroke oil that has dried up - we are not sure. However, we like to be open and transparent in our listings, so thought it best to mention it. See photo when we have tried to highlight this by showing down the reed inlet with piston at TDC. As mentioned, the engine turns over smoothly when operating the ignition rotor by hand. Comes with powervalve, ignition rotor and stator - please see photos for condition.
This engine is very popular, as it fits into the Yamaha RD125 chassis of the same era. Ideal for those who had a 125 back in the late 1980s, but riding one some 40 years later have found the 125 engine a bit underpowered. These are so much better than a big bore, as the DT200 engine has a longer stroke and bore, making for a much more balanced and reliable engine.
