The NSR250 holy grail. This unique racing motorcycle is one of less than 150 bikes produced by HRC - specifically to race in the Formula 3 Japanese championship. Not to be confused with the NSR250SP road bike, very little is the same, indeed these bikes share more similarities with the 1989-92 RS250 NF5 GP bike than the NSR road bike. The engine has special narrower crankcases for higher crankcase compression, different castings on reed inlet and machined outer casing to fit the RS250 style mini ignition rotor & back plate, with full advance and retard ignition adjustment and race spec PGMII ECU. Not only does the light flywheel help the engine spin up, you can dial in power through ignition adjustment and it's lightness also improves crank life. It also comes with a close ratio gearbox using GP RS250 gearbox, straight cut primary gears, different gear change mechanism and a dry clutch. The cylinders and heads are different, with much bigger and different shaped ports, different power valves and single ring pistons running a higher compression. The chassis is coded NH3 to denote HRC parts and comes is beefier / stiffer than stock, with different steering head geometry and is easy to distinguish from a none HRC chassis, as it has anti vibration carb mounts mid way along the frame spars. The wheels are magnesium, the shock aluminium with full compression, rebound and preload adjustment front and rear. Every part is a detailed study in HRC know how, all with HRC specific part numbers. This is a collectors bike as well as an appreciating classic. NB. The dented fuel tank in some of the earliy photos has been replaced.
